Carnivorous plant native to the swamps & bogs of North & South Carolina. Attracts insects and then catches and ingests them with an eyelid-shaped ‘trap’ apparatus. Flytraps eat flies, gnats, fruit flies, spiders and more. Can be grown indoors with supplemental lighting; great plant for kids.
Care: full sun/bright light, water with distilled or rain water – keep soil constantly damp & give good humidity. Plant in combination of peat moss, sphagnum moss, sand &/or pearlite. They can withstand frost and light freezes. However, freezes that last an extended period of time can kill Venus Fly Traps. Remove flower to promote larger plants.Care
