Valued for their large strap-like leaves that make a bold accent in gardens, beds, borders &/or container plantings. Colors range from bright green, olive green, chocolate-colored, pink striped; they can grow into a clump up to 3-4 feet tall and wide.
Care: Grow in sun or partial shade, drought tolerant when established & tolerant of windy or coastal conditions. Evergreen accent but tender to boggy soils and heavy frost - it may grow for several years but eventually are damaged by winter extremes. Can be root hardy even if foliage is damaged by winter, cut back in spring & fertilize to help it regenerate.Care
