Evergreen, low-growing, clump-forming grass with thin spiky blades in bright yellow with slight green variegation. Grows well in wet areas but also tolerates moderate moisture levels, excellent in mass plantings, as ground cover, in containers or bog gardens. Dwarf forms are great with bonsais or in miniature gardens.
Care: open shade to full sun, moist to average soil, adaptable and easy to grow, although the golden leaf color is more intense with more light. ‘Ogon’ will grow in a wide variety of soil conditions from wet clay to rich well-drained garden soil. It prefers regular watering during dry weather and grows lush when grown in a moist location. Prune the evergreen foliage to the ground in late winter as necessary. A Great Plant Pick.
