Garden Classes & Workshops

Grow your gardening knowledge with Dennis’ 7 Dees! Our three garden centers in Lake Oswego, Cedar Hills, and Seaside, OR offer free seminars and hands-on workshops every week throughout the year to help you succeed in your garden. Whether you’re first trying out your green thumb or are a seasoned gardener, our classes and events will give you lots of great ideas and unique ways to express your creativity.

At Dennis’ 7 Dees, we have a passion for plants, and we want to share it with our friendly neighbors and communities. From learning how to care for roses to growing your own edible garden and everything in between, you’re sure to find something fun and educational for you and your family.

Mini Hanging Plant Macrame Workshop

Who doesn’t love hanging plants in and around their home? Now you can hang pots anywhere! Come play with thread, knots, beads and plants in this fun workshop where you’ll learn how to create your very own mini hanging pot macrame to take home and enjoy! Join Brianna Kindell of @ohthegreenery as she guides you through the process of what she considers knot therapy and learn skills that you can take with you to your next macramé project. $45; pre-registration is required. Registration fee applies towards materials, supplies and airplant.

Intro to Watercolor Florals with Seek Paper Co.

Join Kaitlyn from Seek Paper Co. and learn to paint watercolor florals and make pretty floral cards! In this 2.5 hour introductory class you will learn the art of watercolor through detailed and abstract florals. We will cover basic floral sketching, color palette curation, beginner painting techniques, and floral composition to create some beautiful greeting cards for your loved ones. Workshop attendees will receive a watercolor starter kit to take home.

Meet Instructor Nicole Forbes

Nicole has lived & gardened in Portland for more than 20 years and started working for Dennis Seven Dees in the late 1990s. She has experience in nearly every retail garden center job position that exists but has found her niche in teaching gardening classes and hosting events like our Annual Tomato Tasting. Nicole's love of plants and people is evident in her fun and energetic teaching style. She also writes many of our blog articles and helps with employee training at the garden centers.
