Abies pinsapo glauca prostrata - Creeping Blue Spanish Fir

Super Cool groundcover for your small landscapes. The small compact needles are arranged in horizontal branches that just scream “Touch me”. Full Sun. 3’ x 6-8’ in 10 years. Pair with Viburnum davidii or Nandina Moyer Red for a groovy contrast.

Ginkgo biloba “Jade Butterflies”- Jade Butterflies Maindenhair Tree

Perfect tree for the shrinking landscapes. A dwarf, vase-shaped male (fruitless) Ginkgo with bright green leaves and lovely gold fall color. Greenish-yellow flowers appear in mid-spring. Its slow growing, dense habit makes it a striking specimen. Deciduous (leaves drop in fall) Full Sun. 12-15’ x 10’ Pair with any shade loving dwarf perennials.

Pinus parviflora “Blue Angel” – Blue Angel Japanese White Pine

Surprising to me that this was the plant that I heard the most comments about at the garden shows. Tall and skinny makes it the perfect addition to any garden needing texture and color. A slower growing selection that will maintain a uniform and densely-branched upright form. Its silvery blue-green needles are brighter, creating a handsome specimen. Full sun 7-8’ x 3-4’ Goes well with hellebores, heather and red twig dogwoods.

Pseudopanax laetus “Kiwi Gem”- Kiwi Gem shrub panax.

This handsome evergreen shrub has large, glossy dark green leaves, giving a bold tropical appearance. Clusters of interesting purple-green flowers are followed by ornamental purple-black fruit on female plants. Spreading, rounded form is striking in poolside or container plantings. Cool hedge plant Hardy to zone 7. Full to part sun. 6-9’ x 6-9’ pair with bold perennial and annual color.

Schefflera taiwaniana “Yuan Shan” – Yuan Shan Hardy Schefflera

It not very often that I get overly excited about new shrubs, but this one got me. Say goodbye to Fatsia and hello to sexy! Assuredly the hardiest and rarest member of its clan! This unique schefflera - one of the most exciting new introductions from Dan Hinkley - comes from the slopes of the highest mountain in Taiwan. Sensational, evergreen pinnate foliage along the stems, provide distinctive texture to a bright shade garden. A superb container plant too. Part sun to Full sun 15’ x 15’- (I hope!)
