How much does Planscaper® cost?
The price depends on the size of the area you want designed – usually from $500 for a front yard design to $1500 for a full yard plan. Then, you receive a Planscaper® gift card for the whole amount that can be used in the garden center to purchase plants and other materials for your project.
So there's really no fee for design and consulting?
Since 100% of the fee goes toward your plant and materials purchase, the advice, design and planning are free.
And there's a discount as well?
You’ll receive a 10% discount good for one year. So if you buy a $500 Planscaper® - you'll really have $550 to spend.
Will the designer come to my site?
Our meetings take place at the garden center. Pick up a Planscaper® packet, or download it here, to help you gather information for the meeting, then just call or stop in to schedule an appointment.
What should I bring?
The packet has graph paper and instructions to help you sketch the area you want designed. Then fill out the questionnaire, take photos from different angles and print them out. And be sure to bring along any inspiration you may have such as magazine clippings.
How long does it take to get my garden plan?
About a week.
Is there a time limit on my purchase?
No. We'll give you a gift card for the Planscaper® amount and that gift card will not expire.
Can I use the certificate at any store?
Sure. It's good at any of our four garden centers.
Can the designer plan walks, patios and decks for me?
The design will be a conceptual sketch that can include the position of any features you would like to have in your yard. The planting diagram shows where each plant goes. It's as easy as paint-by-number. You'll be able to use it as a master plan to do your project all at once or in stages.
What if I have just a small area I need designed, or only have a balcony or terrace at my condo?
We can help you with any size space. We often design container plantings and self-contained water features. If there is just a portion of your yard that needs help, our program is flexible.

The full-time designers at our four garden centers are qualified design professionals with years of experience. You can read their Bios here.
If I decide to get help with parts of my project, like hardscaping, lighting or irrigation, can you help me?
Yes. You can hire our Residential Landscaping Department to provide any additional services, including installation and maintenance.
What if I need help picking out my plants once I have my plan and list?
Just stop in. We'll help you find the right sizes and varieties. One of the benefits of Planscaper® is having friendly garden center team member ready to give you advice as you do your project, and a designer that is familiar with your yard. We're here to help as your garden grows.
Do you deliver?
Yes, we do! Call or stop by our garden centers for details. We also offer tree planting services for those larger items.
