Vegetable Gardening 101

This class is designed for those with an existing food garden who want to learn new techniques for increasing their harvest and having more gardening success. In this introductory level workshop, Tim Lanfri, of Community Garden Creators, will discuss the basics of bed preparation, using transplants, correct planting time, harvesting, composting and much more!  Tim will demystify backyard food gardening and share his tips and techniques for success!

Bonsai Whack-n-Chat

Saturday February 25, 10 am & 2 pm

Join us for an afternoon that will surely send you on your way to becoming a bonsai master! Our bonsai expert, Justin Parker, will be teaching this class. He’s worked in the green industry for 16 years in which he has been passionately involved with plants. Currently he’s the purchasing manager for Dennis’ 7 Dees. In his spare time he enjoys quality family time & practicing Bonsai.

Class Schedule:

  • Introduction into Bonsai: This will be a discussion time about what Bonsai is. Where we’ll discuss the History & Fundamentals of Bonsai. This will be an open format with Q&A time. (10:00 – 10:30)
  • Bonsai Demonstration: Group will walk nursery in search of potential Bonsai. Instructor will select a suitable species & begin a transformation for the group! Again this will be an open format with Q&A time. (10:30 – 11:30)
  • Wrap up discussion & selection: Instructor will help participants select their own material to get started & review with them the process to start transforming their own Bonsai. (11:30 -12:00)
