Yard, Garden and Patio Show Process

By: Laura Mills

I have been going to the Yard, Garden and Patio show for a handful of years. However, this is the first year I have been involved in the process that is the Yard, Garden and Patio Show.

YGP show 2013 Dennis' 7 Dees From the moment I arrived on the show floor, a haze of bark dust in the air and a flurry of forklifts and earthmovers scampering to and fro, there was an excitement that I had not witnessed before. Watching a full landscape including a water feature, erupt from what was, mere hours before, just a concrete pad is miraculous. And witnessing a booth, equivalent in size to a retail store, emerge from pallets of stone and trucks full of plants and tables is awe-inspiring.

This massive effort could not have been possible was it not for our diligent and meticulous staff: from our talented landscape designers, our dedicated team of retail staff, and our thorough and speedy troop of landscapers. All of us converged upon the convention center in a whirlwind. We have been attentively hand-planting terrariums and containers and brought in a unique sampling of new and delightful items. We have been planning informative demonstrations that will be going on throughout the show; even the thoughtful placement of each individual plant in our display garden.  All of these things have culminated in a truly beautiful and exceptional experience. I am genuinely excited about the plants and items we have to offer this year. Please join us in the fruition of our efforts and the realization of possibility at the 2013 Yard, Garden and Patio Show.
